The Department of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Technological Studies, University of Vavuniya, proposes to organize an annual Student Research and Innovation Symposium to provide a platform for students to showcase their research outcomes, innovative ideas, and technological solutions.
The proposed symposium aims to encourage a strong research culture among students by providing opportunities to present their academic research work, exchange knowledge, and engage with researchers, academics, industryprofessionals, and fellow students. The symposium will welcome student researchers from both national and international institutions to present their innovative research contributions.
The accepted research works will be published as extended abstracts in the symposium proceedings, and authorswill be provided with an opportunity to present their work through poster presentations during the symposium.

Dr. Asanka P. Sayakkara is currently the Director of the University of Colombo Innovation & Startup Incubator, where he is involved in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, technology-driven solutions, and collaboration between the university and industry. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), Sri Lanka.
He obtained his PhD in Information Security and Digital Forensics from University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, and completed his B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Computer Science at the University of Colombo School of Computing. His research interests include Hardware Security, Signal Processing, and Side-Channel Analysis, with particular emphasis on electromagnetic side-channel analysis and its applications in security and digital forensics.
He leads the Signal Insights Research Lab, which explores the use of signals from various sources for information extraction and surveillance, including electromagnetic side-channel analysis of computing devices. He is also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research at UCSC.
